• OVERVIEW

El Tigre Project is located in the Province of Loja, southern Ecuador. The project currently covers 288 ha (2.88 km²), with an additional 9,088 ha (90.88 km²) having been requested. Formerly known as Macará Mina, the project was renamed El Tigre by Salazar Resources in 2026

The project is located approximately 90 km northeast of the Tambo Grande VMS deposit in Peru, providing an important geological analogue for the exploration strategy.

El Tigre is interpreted as a Volcanogenic Massive Sulphide (VMS) system, characterized by a sequence of marine volcanic rocks, barite horizons, massive sulphide mineralization enriched in base metals, and stratiform hydrothermal alteration. The project also exhibits evidence of a gold cap, consisting of a near-surface oxidized zone associated with gold, barite, iron oxides, and silicic alteration.

    REGIONAL GEOLOGICAL SETTING

The project area is characterized by volcanic sequences hosting pyrite, chalcopyrite, and sphalerite mineralization, particularly within pillow lavas overlying a gold-bearing barite horizon.

The identified barite zone measures approximately 650 m × 500 m and represents a significant exploration target. Its characteristics are consistent with a gold-cap environment commonly associated with VMS systems, providing a geological basis for further exploration of potential underlying massive sulphide mineralization.

    HISTORICAL EXPLORATION

Historical exploration activities carried out within the project area have included:

    • Geological mapping and cartography
    • Soil geochemical surveys
    • Rock sampling
    • Geophysical surveys

These programs have provided an initial understanding of the geological and mineralization framework and support the case for continued exploration.

    EXPLORATION AND PROJECT STATUS

El Tigre Project is currently in the exploration phase. Exploration efforts are focused on further defining the geological setting, characterizing the mineralized zones, and evaluating the potential for a larger underlying VMS sulphide system.

At this stage, the project remains an early-stage exploration opportunity, with its principal value proposition centered on the identification and potential delineation of a VMS system with gold and base-metal mineralization.

    Drill targets are under evaluation.
