In Ecuador a ‘Minga’ is a community enterprise whereby efforts are pooled for the benefit of residents. In consultation with local groups, Curimining coordinates and supports a series of initiatives in the area, particularly on training and upskilling residents to assist in community infrastructure including: repair work on school desks, kindergarten facilities, investments in the Technical School of Las Naves, local road improvements, plumbing and sanitation assistance for the Fire Brigade and for the Echeandia Stadium. Ongoing continuing personal and professional development has been provided such as sewing initiatives and cottage industry support, as well as supporting local social groups and festivals.
